UN Secretary General stresses trade and technical cooperation

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, while talking about his priorities for the year 2026, made special reference to the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and the European Union (EU) and stressed the need to support a 'multi-polar' world order.

Pointing to the US and China, he said that global problems will not be solved by a single power ruling, nor by two powers dividing the world into their spheres of influence. Guterres said that if we want a stable world, lasting peace and all-round development, we need a dense network of trade, technology and international cooperation between different countries, as has been seen recently in agreements like India-EU, EU-Mercosar and China-Canada.
