It is mandatory to always wear hijab', medical students demanded to wear full arms and hood during surgery

  Thiruvananthapuram: Seven female students of a college in Kerala have written to the principal asking them to allow them to observe hijab rules during surgery. The students asked that they should be allowed to wear hijab.

Wearing hijab is mandatory in all situations

In their letter to the college authorities, female students pursuing an MBBS course at the Government Medical College in Thiruvananthapuram have said that according to their religious beliefs, it is mandatory for Muslim women to wear hijab in all circumstances.

The letter said

Long-sleeved scrub jackets and surgical hoods are available to allow us to maintain our hijab rules while taking precautions.

In the letter, the girl students have requested the principal to allow them to wear it as soon as possible. After this, Principal Dr. Lynette Morris said that a committee has been formed to consider the demand of the students.
