Canada News: Mark Carney's Buy Canadian slogan

  A trade war has erupted between the two countries after US President Donald Trump threatened to impose a 100 percent tariff on Canadian goods. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has made an emotional appeal to the countrymen. He has called on the countrymen to buy only Canadian products to make Canada economically self-sufficient.

Prime Minister Mark Carney, while releasing a video on social media, said, ‘When our economy is threatened from outside, we must focus on the things that are within our control. We cannot stop the decisions of other countries, but we can be our own best customers. We will buy Canadian-made goods and make them in Canada. PM Carney’s ‘Buy Canadian’ campaign is being considered an attempt to deal with this economic threat. By releasing this video message, Prime Minister Carney indicated that he would not bow to American pressure. He appealed that citizens should buy only those things that are made by Canadians. This will strengthen domestic industries and reduce dependence on other countries (especially the US). Carney also emphasized self-reliance in the defense sector and manufacturing within the country.
