Former WWE CEO to become US Education Secretary, why did Trump take this decision?

New Delhi: After winning the presidential election, Donald Trump is selecting his cabinet colleagues for several big positions. During this, he has handed over the responsibility of the Education Department to former WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) CEO and professional wrestler Linda McMahon.

It is worth mentioning that she has been a part of the Trump government before. McMahon headed the Small Business Administration during Trump's first term from 2017 to 2019. She has also been a Republican candidate for the US Senate twice. However, both of them were unsuccessful in the subsequent elections. She is the wife of WWE founder Vince McMahon.

Trump has expressed confidence in his commitment. Trump has said that she will work hard to promote universal school choice across the country. In 2009, Linda McMahon worked for a year on the Connecticut Board of Education.

Recently, Trump has chosen his campaign spokeswoman Carolyn Levitt as his press secretary. Trump said in a statement that Levitt has proven to be smart, tough and a highly effective communicator. I am confident that she will excel on stage and help deliver our message to the American people.

Marco Rubio appointed Secretary of State

In addition, Trump has appointed former soldier and TV actor Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense (Minister) in his new government. He has appointed Republican Senator Marco Rubio as Secretary of State. Rubio has long served on parliamentary committees on foreign affairs and intelligence. Trump has described him as a true friend of allies and a fearless warrior.

Trump has appointed female Hindu leader Tulsi Gabbard as the head of the Department of National Intelligence. Gabbard, a four-time Democratic congresswoman, openly endorsed Trump during the election.

Gabbard, 43, is known in the US for her Hindu beliefs, while her parents are Christians. Over the past four years, she has been an outspoken critic of the Biden administration.
