Straw bales built in 250 acres of Kalanaur burnt to ashes, farmers lose lakhs

Kalanaur: Farmers have suffered losses worth lakhs due to the burning of 250 acres of straw bales made by a baler day and night during the paddy season. Giving information in this regard, farmers Nazar Singh, Buta Singh and Pinka Bhangwan, who are engaged in making straw bales, said that they had worked hard during the paddy season to make straw bales from 250 acres of land and dumped them in Nazar Singh's fields. Due to a sudden fire on Wednesday, their straw bales were burnt to ashes. They said that after the straw caught fire, fire brigade vehicles also reached the spot, but by that time the straw had burnt to ashes. They said that the cause of the fire could be electric wires.
