Chandigarh Airport: 20 flights cancelled at Chandigarh Airport due to storm

  20 flights were cancelled and two were diverted to other airports at Chandigarh airport today due to heavy rain and squalls. Apart from this, several flights were delayed.

The rain started here since Thursday night and strong winds prevailed on Friday. Nine incoming and 11 outgoing flights were cancelled due to strong winds and rain in the tricity. A Hyderabad-Chandigarh flight scheduled to arrive at 12.05 pm was diverted to Delhi, while a Srinagar flight (6E262) scheduled to arrive at 12.55 pm was cancelled due to bad weather. No flight from Srinagar landed in Chandigarh during the day. Similarly, a Chennai-Chandigarh flight (6E6005) scheduled for 2 pm was diverted to Jaipur. An international flight from Abu Dhabi arrived slightly late, while the departure for Dubai was delayed by about an hour and left at 5.31pm.
