India does not trust Britain in the Khalistanis' attack case, S Jaishankar speaks out on security lapses, Ministry of External Affairs

The Ministry of External Affairs has strongly condemned and expressed regret over the attack on the convoy of Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar by Khalistani supporters in London. It has also reiterated that it will provide full security to all foreign guests, but India does not trust this assurance of the British government. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on Friday that such a case has happened before and the British government was unable to stop it. In such a situation, India has made it clear that when steps are taken against Khalistani separatists in Britain, it will trust their words.

India also categorically said that the Khalistani separatists and terrorists know that they have got a license to do such things. From this stand of India, it is clear that the incident that happened with Foreign Minister Jaishankar in London two days ago has the potential to have a negative impact on the bilateral relations of the two countries. He said that we are very concerned about the breach in the security of the Foreign Minister in London. We have also expressed our deep concern to the UK government. There is a context behind this incident, which is very important to understand. In fact, the Khalistani separatist and terrorist elements living there feel that they have a license to do such things and the relevant authorities who are there to stop it either do not take it seriously or ignore it. This is the reason why these elements threaten and intimidate us, which hinders diplomatic work. The British government has condemned it, but we will trust their statement only when they take appropriate action against the people who carried out such an incident.
