Ram mandir Chardhava case preliminary investigation report submitted

The three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the alleged manipulation of the Ayodhya Ram temple's offerings and donation amount has submitted its preliminary report to Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad. Investigation team member Vijay Vishwas Pant said that this is a preliminary report based on the investigation so far and its details have been kept completely confidential. The SIT will submit the final report in the next 10-15 days. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party and Congress leaders have demanded strict action against the accused.

The matter came to light after former Samajwadi Party MLA Pawan Pandey from Ayodhya alleged that more than seven crores of money had gone missing from the temple's offerings. After this, the state government had formed a special investigation team on June 14 on the demand of the trust.

Meanwhile, a new petition has been filed in the Supreme Court demanding a CBI probe into the matter under court supervision. The lawyers have appealed that all records including the trust's bank accounts, donation registers and CCTV footage should be ordered to be preserved so that the evidence is not tampered with.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said on X that now that the layers of the case have been revealed, efforts to suppress it may intensify. Party MP Awadhesh Prasad has demanded a probe under the supervision of the Supreme Court. Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid also called it a betrayal of the trust of the devotees and demanded exemplary action against the accused. On the other hand, state government minister Om Prakash Rajbhar said that a special investigation team is investigating the matter and strict action will be taken against the accused.
