Viral video case: 'Punjab government should enforce its own law on CM too': Manjinder Singh Sirsa

Delhi minister and BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Wednesday demanded that the Punjab government implement the same anti-sacrifice law that he had advocated in the state and questioned why Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was not facing action despite the ongoing controversy.

Addressing the media, Sirsa said that the issue is now a "litmus test" for the Punjab Police, and alleged that the ruling AAP government is not following the standards set by itself on matters related to Sikh religious sentiments. He claimed that under the same law brought by AAP to deal with alleged incidents of sacrilege, uniform action should be taken, irrespective of the position of the person.

Sirsa questioned, "The law is equal for everyone. The law that was brought in Punjab against sacrilege should also be applicable to Bhagwant Mann," and asked why no case has been registered against the Chief Minister. The BJP leader further alleged that AAP leaders have repeatedly challenged Sikh institutions, including the Akal Takht, and said that those who used to speak out strongly on issues related to Sikh religious sentiments earlier are now silent.
