The academy on Thursday released the "Reminder List of Eligible Productions for the 98th Academy Awards". This list of films that meet the eligibility criteria for consideration in the general categories, including Best Picture, is a preliminary stage for the nominations, which will be announced on January 22.

Apart from Rishabh Shetty's "Kantara" and the Anupam Kher-directed film, the two other Indian films are the multilingual animated film "Mahavatara Narasimha" and the Tamil film "Tourist Family" by first-time filmmaker Abhishan Jeevanth. Radhika Apte starrer "Sister Midnight", a Hindi-language UK-India co-production, also made it to the list.
