Good news for Indians, now permanent residents will be able to join the Canadian army

  Toronto: Indians living permanently in Canada can now join the army there. This was announced by the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). According to reports, thousands of posts are vacant in the Canadian Army. Efforts are being made to fill them. It is noteworthy that by 2021, there were more than 8 million immigrants in Canada, that is, about 21.5 percent of the total Canadian population. Last year, about 1 lakh Indians became permanent residents of Canada. The country granted asylum to a record 405,000 new immigrants. Between 2022 and 2024, more than a million new immigrants are expected to become permanent residents in Canada. According to the Royal United Services Institute of Nova Scotia, an NGO, Pakhe residents were previously only eligible under the Skilled Forces Foreign Applicant (SMFA) entry program.
