'I saved Israel, now I will save Netanyahu...', Trump gave a direct message to the Israeli court, said - forgive him

US President Donald Trump has strongly supported his close ally and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He has described the ongoing corruption case against Netanyahu as 'unjust' and has demanded that it be immediately dropped or Netanyahu be pardoned. In a lengthy post on his social media site Truth Social, Trump described Netanyahu as a 'great warrior' and a 'true soldier of Israel'. The statement came at a time when tensions between Israel and Iran were at their peak recently and the two countries were on the verge of war.

"Such a plot against a man who has given so much (to the country) is unthinkable to me," Trump wrote. He said that Netanyahu and I went through 'hell-like conditions' together when Israel fought its old enemy Iran. "Bibi (Netanyahu's nickname) and I fought a powerful enemy like Iran together," Trump said. 'Must be pardoned like a great hero'

Trump said he had learned that Netanyahu had received a summons to appear in court on Monday. Calling the matter a 'conspiracy', he said, "Ms. Netanyahu's case should be dismissed immediately or she should be pardoned like a great hero."

Trump also said that there is no precedent for what Netanyahu has done for Israel. However, Trump's statement came a day after he expressed anger at Israel.

In fact, despite the announcement of a ceasefire with Iran on Tuesday, Israel had prepared for the attack. Trump angrily warned Israel to recall its fighter jets. After some time, he said that the Israeli planes "came back".

What are the charges against Netanyahu?

Netanyahu's trial has been going on since May 2020, which has been postponed several times. Netanyahu has asked the court to postpone the hearing several times due to the wars in Gaza and Lebanon. In the first case, Netanyahu and his wife Sara are accused of accepting more than $250,000 worth of luxury goods, such as cigars, jewelry and champagne, from billionaires in exchange for political favors.

In the other two cases, Netanyahu is accused of trying to get two Israeli media houses to publish stories praising him. However, Netanyahu denies all these charges and says that no wrongdoing has been done against him.
