London Protests: PM Keir Starmer's stern warning to anti-immigration protesters

Thousands of people marched in central London today at two separate demonstrations. One was against the immigration crackdown in the country, while the other was in support of Palestinians. Police deployed 4,000 officers, including additional officers and personnel from outside the capital, to the operation. The police described it as their biggest public order operation in many years and promised to use their powers with all possible rigour.

Shortly after both marches began, by 12 noon, police said they had arrested 11 people for various offences. Police had earlier estimated that at least 80,000 people had taken part in the demonstrations. Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Friday targeted the organisers of the ‘United the Kingdom’ march, accusing them of directly promoting hatred and division.
