Ajit Doval holds talks with Chinese Foreign Minister, discusses issues ranging from Pahalgam terror attack to ongoing conflict with Pakistan

  Amid the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan and subsequent reports of its violation by Pakistan, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval held talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Saturday.

This is the first high-level talks between India and China after the Pahalgam terror attack. In the last fortnight, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and NSA Doval have spoken to leaders of all major countries of the world.

According to the information released by the Chinese Foreign Ministry, NSA Doval gave information about the Pahalgam terror attack and also talked about India's action against terrorism.

Doval said that war is not India's desire
According to China, NSA Doval said that war is not India's desire and it benefits no one. India and Pakistan are committed to the ceasefire and expressed the hope that regional peace and stability will be established soon. Meanwhile, Wang Yi condemned the Pahalgam attack.

He also condemned all forms and manifestations of terrorism and said that in view of the instability in many parts of the world, the current peace in South Asia should be maintained at all costs.

China will help both countries in this
China expressed the hope that India and Pakistan will exercise restraint to maintain a long-term ceasefire and resolve disputes through dialogue. China will help both countries in this.

China said- We are with Pakistan
According to PTI from Islamabad, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said that his country will stand firmly in support of Pakistan in defending its sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence.

A statement issued by the Pakistan Foreign Office said that the Chinese Foreign Minister made these remarks during a telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

China is a strategic ally of Pakistan in all aspects
During the conversation, Dar briefed Wang Yi about the latest situation in the regional area. Wang praised Pakistan's restraint. According to the Foreign Office, Wang reiterated that China is a strategic partner of Pakistan in all respects and will remain steadfast in its support.
