Some time ago, the Maharashtra government had published advertisements in newspapers to organize a function dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, in Navi Mumbai. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was martyred in Delhi on the orders of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Guru Sahib had made this great sacrifice for human rights and religious freedom. It should not be an unusual thing for a state government to publish such an advertisement in newspapers. However, it was unusual in one respect. The advertisement had pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, his Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and other leaders. The special thing about the advertisement was that all these leaders were wearing saffron-coloured turbans. The ninth Guru had made his sacrifice for humanity and human rights. It is noteworthy that earlier, the government of the neighboring state of Haryana had organized a function dedicated to the martyrdom day of the ninth Guru in Kurukshetra, which Mr. Modi had attended. On March 1, in the functions organized regarding the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Amit Shah, Fadnavis and other BJP leaders also wore saffron colored turbans. This advertisement was published on March 1. Haryana state was formed in 1966 by dividing Punjab and on March 1, 2026, the Chief Minister of the same state, Haryana, Naib Singh Saini, presented his budget in the state assembly. He also has the finance department. On that occasion, the strange thing was that Naib Singh Saini and others were also wearing the saffron turban that has now become his trademark. In his budget speech, quotes were also given from the Gurbani composed by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, whose (Guru Nanak Dev Ji) message focuses on love and brotherhood across the world.
