Captain and drag-flicker Anmol Ekka delivered a stellar performance, scoring two goals via penalty corners and bringing his tournament tally to 16. Additionally, Sukhvinder scored a goal to consolidate the team's lead. Goalkeeper and 'Player of the Match' Vivek Lakra made several brilliant saves, including stopping a crucial penalty stroke.

After a goalless first quarter, India opened their account in the 16th minute through a penalty corner. In the final moments of the match, Malaysia scored their first and only goal via a penalty corner, but by then, India had already established a commanding position in the game.
