Raghav Chadha wins again: Got time to meet the President before Bhagwant Mann

A group of MPs who left Aam Aadmi Party and joined BJP will meet President Darpadi Murmu on May 5, led by Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha. Rashtrapati Bhavan has given time to meet four MPs including Raghav Chadha before the already scheduled meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. These MPs will meet at 10.40 am on May 5 and the time for meeting Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is fixed at 12 noon on the same day.

It has been learnt that Sandeep Pathak, Ashok Mittal and Rajinder Gupta have gone to meet Raghav Chadha. According to information, Raghav Chadha will apprise the President about the alleged use of government machinery by the Punjab government for political vendetta and targeting of MPs who left AAP. The MPs will seek the President's intervention.

Seven AAP MPs had joined BJP in the past. A team of the Punjab Pollution Control Board raided the factory in Dhaula of MP Rajinder Gupta, who left AAP, on April 30 and there are reports of two police cases being registered against MP Sandeep Pathak. MP Harbhajan Singh's security has been withdrawn. There is also talk of looting of properties of MP Ashok Mittal. BJP working president Ashwani Sharma has said, "This is political vendetta and Bhagwant Mann is using the police as a political weapon." On the other hand, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will also appeal to the President on May 5 to recall the six rebel MPs of AAP and protect the mandate of the people of Punjab. It is worth mentioning that the AAP government had won the vote of confidence in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha on May 1 and the Chief Minister will also take a copy of this resolution with him. AAP MLAs are also preparing to go with the Chief Minister.
