The current situation is one of 'neither war nor peace': Abdul Majid Hakim Elahi

Iran's Supreme Leader's representative in India, Abdul Majeed Hakim Elahi, today described the ongoing tension between his country and the Israel-US alliance as a 'neither war nor peace' situation. Appealing for an immediate end to this conflict, he said that the stability of the world depends on those who have started the war. He raised the question of why countries affected by the war and facing energy crisis are not putting pressure on the US and Israel to stop the attacks?

Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru, Elahi said that Iran did not want this conflict, but was forced to respond due to the continuous attacks. He said, "Iran tried to avoid war many times. I do not know why the US-Israel want to impose their will on other countries, who gave them this authority?" He reminded that Iran had held talks in Oman, which later reached Geneva and there was a lot of fire there, but the sudden attacks spoiled this process. Elahi claimed that many commanders and civilians were killed in airstrikes and missile attacks. 175 innocent girls died in the attack on a primary school. According to him, so far there have been more than 4,000 deaths, more than 40,000 injuries and heavy damage to hospitals, universities and public infrastructure.
