'Letter bomb' explodes in Iran, secret note written to Mojtaba Khamenei leaked; ruling party split over talks with America

Digital Desk, New Delhi: US President Donald Trump had claimed that there was a split in Tehran's leadership. The carefully planned show of unity by Iran after his claim may be an attempt to suppress a much deeper internal crisis. This has been revealed in the discussions going on in Iranian political circles and in a report by the opposition media outlet 'Iran International'.

In fact, at the heart of this controversy is an allegedly secret letter, which was sent by senior Iranian officials to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. This letter warned that Iran's worsening economic crisis leaves the leadership with no other viable option but to engage in serious talks with the US on the nuclear issue.
