  Major Arshdeep Singh Gill, a brave officer of the Indian Army, residing in Sector-79 of Mohali, has brought glory to the entire state and the country. During the 'Defense Investiture Ceremony' organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, he was honored with the country's second highest peacetime gallantry award 'Kirti Chakra' by President Draupadi Murmu. Major Arshdeep Singh had displayed unparalleled bravery in a highly sensitive and challenging operation against terrorists in Manipur. Highlights of the operation: 84 hours of playing with death: This counter-insurgency operation against terrorism in Manipur lasted for about 84 hours (three and a half days). Despite extremely dangerous and adverse conditions, Major Arshdeep Singh led his team forward. He successfully completed this mission without caring for his life. Let us tell you that Major Gill is originally an officer of 'The Armed Corps' and is currently posted with '1 Assam Rifles'. The Kirti Chakra is India's second highest peacetime gallantry award. It is awarded to soldiers of the Army, Navy and Air Force, as well as civilians, for exceptional bravery, courage or self-sacrifice. In terms of precedence, the award comes after the Ashok Chakra.
