Strait of Hormuz Crisis: Hormuz Strait will open only after America's attitude improves: Iran

  Hormuz Strait Crisis: Iran's Supreme National Security Council has announced that the Hormuz Strait will not open until America improves its attitude.

Iran's state broadcaster has issued this statement, quoting the council's secretary and Revolutionary Guard commander Mohammad Bagher Zoelghader, which could bring a new turn in the ongoing talks on the management and transportation of this waterway.

These new demands put forward by Iran say that America should never threaten Iran and should permanently end the war against Iran and its allies in the region. In addition, the US will have to lift the naval blockade of Iranian ports, withdraw its troops from the region, fully compensate for war losses, lift sanctions and release frozen funds unconditionally. There was no immediate reaction from the US on this.

Earlier, Iran had said that it was very close to an agreement with Oman to manage this waterway. The Gulf mediator country Oman, which did not make much statement about the talks. He said in a statement today that the talks were continuing in a "positive and constructive atmosphere" and also condemned the attacks on ships in the waterway.

Earlier, UAE officials had said that a ship owned by Abu Dhabi's state-owned oil and gas company ADNOC was attacked while it was passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The Foreign Ministry said Iran fired a missile at it, targeting commercial shipping.

The company said in a statement that there were no casualties in the attack, which took place early Saturday. According to the company, more than a dozen of its ships have been targeted by missiles and drones while passing through the waterway since the US and Israel launched a war against Iran in February, killing one crew member and injuring 20 others. However, ADNOC did not provide any details about the exact location of the attack or the damage.
