'This is the first time in history', PM Modi explained what is special about the postage stamp and coin issued on RSS

  The centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) are being celebrated across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also released a special postage stamp and coin to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the RSS. This coin and postage stamp are attracting a lot of attention. This is the first time in the history of the RSS that a postage stamp and coin have been released for the Sangh. The RSS centenary celebrations were held at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in Delhi, in which Prime Minister Modi was the chief guest. While addressing the gathering, PM Modi presented a special gift to the RSS. Special postage stamp on the 100th anniversary of the RSS The postage stamp released by PM Modi to commemorate the centenary celebrations of the RSS is special in many ways. It has a picture of a parade of RSS workers. This photo is from the parade of 1963. In fact, the RSS played a key role during the 1962 Indo-China war. In such a situation, the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru requested the RSS to participate in the January 26 parade and a historic parade of RSS workers was witnessed on Rajpath (now Kartavayapath) on January 26, 1963. A glimpse of Bharat Mata and RSS on the coin Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also released a commemorative coin to celebrate the 100th anniversary of RSS. On one side of this coin, there is a magnificent picture of Bharat Mata in a boon-holding pose with a lion on the other. This commemorative coin is made of pure silver and its face value is Rs 100. The front of this special coin has the symbol of Ashoka Pillar. The traditional picture of Bharat Mata can be seen on the back with pictures of RSS workers. The RSS motto is also written on the coin: "Rashtriya Swaha, Idam Rashtriya Idam Na Mam." The 'Sangh Parivar' was formed 100 years ago. On 27 September 1925, Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar laid the foundation of RSS. The organization was established in Nagpur, Maharashtra and now has branches across the country. People associated with RSS are known as 'Sangh Parivar'.
