Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a scathing attack on the BJP government at the Centre during her visit to North Bengal. Addressing a rally in Jalpaiguri, she targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government on issues like sending NRC notices to the people of Bengal from Assam, atrocities on migrant workers and interference of the Centre in the federal structure. Mamata also accused the Centre of interfering in the federal structure. She said that last time the voter review work took about two years. Now there is talk of doing it in two to three months. How is this possible? Mamata said, 'Not Delhi, Bengal will run Bengal.' Taking a tough stand on the atrocities being committed on migrant workers of Bengal in some parts of the country, she said that let's see, how much courage does one have, how much atrocities can one commit? He alleged that in other states, those who speak Bengali are being harassed by calling them 'Bangladeshis'. An attempt is being made to forcibly send them to Bangladesh. This will not be tolerated. He said that cases of atrocities on migrant workers from Bengal are coming to light in Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. But we do not atrocities on people from other states living in Bengal, we love them.
