India has a lot of money, why does it need help; US President asked - why should we give 21 million dollars for voting?

US President Donald Trump has questioned the US's $21 million aid to increase 'voting in India'. Trump, while supporting the cancellation of the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)'s aid to India to increase voter turnout, said that India has a lot of money. Then why are we giving it $21 million? For us, they are the highest taxing country in the world. Their tariffs are so high that we are not even able to set foot in their country. Trump said at his residence Mar-a-Lago in Florida that he has great respect for India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. But how reasonable is it to give $21 million for voter turnout in India? After all, what is the percentage of voting in America? India has been very strong on tariffs. I don't blame them for that. This is definitely their different way of doing business. It is very difficult to sell anything in India because they have trade restrictions. It is worth mentioning that on February 16, DOGE head and industrialist Elon Musk had announced the cancellation of $21 million in aid by sharing a post on X. Apart from this, meaningless aid programs of various countries were also canceled. DOGE had issued a statement saying that along with the aid given to India, $29 million in aid to strengthen the political ground in Bangladesh and $39 million in aid to Nepal for fiscal federalism and biodiversity dialogue have been stopped.
