According to The Korea Times, a man in his 50s died of Naegleria fowleri, also known as the 'Brain Eating Amoeba', after returning from Thailand. When the patient returned, symptoms of meningitis began to appear that evening—such as headache, fever, vomiting, slurred speech, and neck stiffness—and he was shifted to the emergency room the next day. He was admitted to the hospital the next day and died on December 21.
