Breaking: Police raid Bikram Singh Majithia's residence to arrest him

  A team of Amritsar Rural Police led by SP Aditya Warrier today raided the residence of Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia in Green Avenue area here. The raid was conducted in connection with the alleged 'attack' on Majitha police station and an attempt to forcibly release a detainee from police custody. In this case, a large number of police personnel had reached his residence to arrest him. However, he was not present at his house at that time.

The police have registered an FIR in connection with the alleged attack on Majitha police station on Sunday, the police officer said. He said that SSP Sohail Qasim Mir will soon brief the media about the case and other details. Punjab Police has formed 12 special teams to trace and arrest those involved in the alleged 'attack' on Majitha police station and the attempt to free a detainee from police custody. The police are also conducting raids at several other places to arrest them.
