Violence against Hindus continues in Bangladesh, American Hindus launch awareness campaign

Angered by the ongoing anti-Hindu violence in Bangladesh, Hindu Americans have launched a massive awareness campaign in Silicon Valley, "Ask Yunus". As part of the campaign, large hoardings and billboards have been put up in this part of California. The United Hindu Council has put up the first billboard in a prominent location at 880-N and Market Street in Oakland before Christmas. A statement said that over the next three months, the digital hoardings will display the message at six key locations, including high-traffic areas and major bridges, to raise awareness and encourage dialogue about this important issue.

According to the statement, the violence against Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh during the rule of Muhammad Yunus has been described as extremely regrettable. The council said that Yunus should include all Bangladeshis in his government and stop persecuting minorities on the basis of their religion.

Appeal to protect human rights in Bangladesh
The Council also called on local, state and national leadership in the United States to appeal to the ruling government of Bangladesh to protect human rights.
