HAL's passenger plane Hindustan-228 will add new features, DGCA approves the change

  BANGALORE - HAL Passenger Aircraft The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has approved the new version of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited's aircraft 'Hindustan 228-201LW'. Announcing this, HAL said that this variant with a capacity of 19 passengers has a maximum take-off weight of 5,695 kg and will now fall in the 5,700 kg aircraft category.

Operators will get multiple operational benefits
HAL said this variant offers several operational advantages for the operators. The aircraft will also have several new features, which have been approved by the DGCA. Under this modification, the carrying capacity of the aircraft will increase and it will enter a new category.

Requires less pilot qualification
After adding new features, this aircraft will require less pilot qualification. This will enable pilots with a commercial pilot license to fly the aircraft. Along with this, the availability of pilot pool for the aircraft will increase and the operating cost will also come down. In addition, the new version will result in reduced training requirements for flight and ground crew, including aircraft maintenance engineers.
