The Punjab Aviation Museum will be established in Patiala, the Chief Minister approved, a step taken with the aim of depicting the century-old history of the state.

  Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has approved the project to set up 'Punjab Aviation Museum' at Patiala with the aim of showcasing the state's history in the field of civil aviation. The decision in this regard was taken by the Chief Minister on the proposal of the Punjab State Civil Aviation Council. The Chief Minister said that Punjab has a century-old history in the field of civil aviation, which needs to be properly conveyed to future generations. He said that a civil aerodrome should be established in Patiala for this purpose. He said that the history and artifacts of the state's aviation sector must be displayed in this museum.

The Chief Minister said that apart from this, models of airplanes, pictures, maps, presentation of models through animation, clothes and equipment of pilots and other staff can also be shown in this museum. Bhagwant Mann also said that the museum should also display journals, technical manuals, photographs and personal archives, which are often used by aviation researchers to write articles or books or by technicians to repair old aircraft. He said that the 'Patiala Aviation Complex' spread over an area of ​​350 acres is a heritage institution, which was established in the first decade of the 20th century.
