Amnesty International claims: Indian companies sent 2,596 consignments of arms to Israel, used in Gaza war

  Amnesty International Amnesty International said in its report released on Thursday that it has traced more than 2,500 consignments of arms being exported from India to Israel. The report said, "This may pose a risk of 'complicity' in the ongoing genocide in Gaza," and added that at least 2,596 consignments of arms were exported from India to Israel by companies directly owned and controlled by India after October 7, 2023. "India has continued to supply arms to Israel despite the substantial risk that they could be used in its ongoing genocide against Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip," the Amnesty International report said. The supply of arms and ammunition to Israel reveals how the Indian government has built a close and mutually beneficial partnership with the Israeli defense sector and has become a significant contributor to the supply chains that support Israel’s military operations. The report said it used shipment-level trade data between India and Israel to reveal how Indian arms, ammunition, parts and components are sent to major Israeli companies that supply the Israeli military. “Our research exposes India’s continued support for the Israeli military and defense sector despite the genocide in Gaza, which has been broadcast globally almost daily for years,” said Amnesty International Secretary General Agnes Callamard.
