Due to the Chinese Army, the situation on the Line of Actual Control is deteriorating: India

A day after ITBP Director General Shatrujit Kapur claimed clashes with the Chinese Army at several places along the border in Arunachal Pradesh, India today said that the situation on the Line of Actual Control worsens when the Chinese Army deviates from the fixed patrolling pattern. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that maintaining peace and tranquility in the border areas is very important for the overall development of bilateral relations. Jaiswal said that India and China are insisting on dialogue at the diplomatic and military level to prevent any misunderstanding on the Line of Actual Control and resolve outstanding issues. He said that both sides have also agreed to discuss ways to improve understanding of the Line of Actual Control in relevant areas for better border management.

Addressing the ITBP jawans (Himvirs) in Alwar on Thursday, Director General Shatrujit Kapur said that a situation of conflict with Chinese forces had arisen in Arunachal Pradesh which is still ongoing. Kapoor, who is retiring at the end of this month, mentioned China's heavy investment in the People's Liberation Army and its progress in conventional warfare. However, he said that drones can prove to be a big weapon in the changing battlefield.
