  Bathinda: A freight train carrying crude oil from Hisar to Bathinda Refinery suddenly caught fire on Friday night. Due to oil leakage, seven oil tankers loaded on the freight train caught fire. Fortunately, there was no passenger train near the freight train, otherwise there could have been a major accident. The goods train caught fire before reaching Bathinda station but it was discovered on reaching Bathinda. Police Station Canal Incharge SI Harjeevan Singh said that on Friday night at around 10:30 p.m., Punjab Police's PCR personnel were standing near the Patiala railway gate. Meanwhile, the police personnel saw that the goods train was running on the track as a 'burning train'. Immediately informed the control room and fire department. The vehicles of the fire department reached the spot and brought the fire under control in some time. The senior officials of the railway department say that an investigation will be carried out on how the fire started, action will be taken against whoever is found negligent.
