A bill has been brought in the American Congress (Parliament) to give attention to India like Japan, South Korea and NATO countries. It has been said in the bill that India should also transfer technology like these countries. US Senator Marco Rubio presented the US-India Defense Cooperation Act Bill in the Senate on Thursday. He said that in view of the growing threat to India's regional integrity, India should be supported and security assistance provided to India should be stopped if Pakistan-sponsored terrorism against India is found. After introducing the US-India Defense Cooperation Act, Marco Rubio said that Communist China is continuously expanding aggressively in the Indo-Pacific. This builds on the autonomy of our regional partners. America and India's partnership is important to deal with China. It is necessary to strengthen strategic, diplomatic, economic and military relations between the two. The bill also states that India should be exempted from limited relations with Russia as it is currently dependent on Russia for defense equipment used by the army. This type of India-centric bill has been introduced in the US Congress for the first time. However, due to the presidential elections in America this year, it is not easy to get the bill passed by taking the Republicans and Democrats together. If the bill is not passed, it can be presented again in the Congress after the elections.
