Javed Miandad makes emotional appeal for Imran Khan's release

Former Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad has made an emotional appeal for the release of 1992 World Cup-winning captain and former Prime Minister Imran Khan from jail. During an interview, he cried while mentioning Imran. He described Imran as honest and said that he cannot be involved in corruption.

Along with this, he denied the talk of enmity between him and Imran. He clarified that even though they had some differences, on the field they have always fought together for Pakistan. Therefore, the concerned parties should sit together and find a solution to the issue. On the other hand, concerns are growing about the health of 73-year-old Imran, who has been in Adiala Jail since 2023. In this context, voices are also being raised in favor of Imran at the international level. Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev along with Greg Chappell have demanded that Imran be provided with proper medical treatment. Australian captain Pat Cummins has also appealed for respectful treatment of the former captain.
