US and Middle East seek Kiev's help to counter Shahid drones

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that the United States and its allies have sought Ukrainian expertise to counter Iran’s Shahid drones in the Middle East. Zelensky said late Wednesday that various countries, including the United States, have asked Ukraine for help in countering Iranian drones.

The Ukrainian president said he had spoken in recent days with the leaders of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait about possible cooperation. Russia has fired thousands of Iranian-made Shahid drones at Ukraine during the four-year war. Iran has also used Shahid drones to counter US-Israeli attacks. Zelensky said Ukrainian assistance to counter Iranian drones would be provided only if it did not weaken Ukraine's own security and would enhance Kiev's diplomatic efforts to deter Russian aggression.
