There are more than 20,000 Indians in the US who are present in the US without any documents.

All these Indians are facing deportation orders or are currently in US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention centers.

According to statistics, by 2024, there will be 2047 Indians who will be living in the US without any documents. Of these, 17,940 are under final removal orders and another 2,467 are in custody under ICE enforcement and removal operations.

It is worth mentioning that 7,25,000 Indian immigrants are living in the US without valid documents. At the same time, 14 million people are living in the US illegally.

Indian government will help
According to the report, the Indian government is ready to work with the Trump administration to bring these people back. India does not want the issue of illegal citizens to affect programs like H-1B visas and student visas.

According to US government data, 3,86,000 people were granted H-1B visas in 2023, of which about three-quarters are Indian citizens. India is far below in terms of illegal immigrants living in the US.

Trump moves to ban entry of illegal immigrants
After taking oath on Monday, Trump issued an executive order to ban entry of illegal immigrants. Executive orders are orders issued by the president. His order becomes law and does not require congressional approval. Congress cannot overturn it. However, these can be challenged in court.
