Elon Musk escalated the ongoing public debate regarding Starlink's entry into India on Friday. He took a dig at industrialist Mukesh Ambani by addressing him as "Prime Minister Ambani" and accusing him of attempting to maintain a monopoly, while asking whether he would consider allowing competition for satellite internet services in the country. This latest attack by Musk on 'X' comes just hours after Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia emphasized that India does not permit a monopoly in any sector; he noted that despite the discourse surrounding a "particular" company, three firms have already received satcom licenses and can commence operations individually once they fulfill security requirements and complete the necessary stages.
