Nepal Floods: 102 pilgrims from Nagpur stranded in Kathmandu due to floods return safely

  102 pilgrims from Nagpur, stranded in Kathmandu after the devastating floods in Nepal, returned safely to Maharashtra on Sunday morning. Officials gave this information. Along with these 102 pilgrims, four pilgrims from other parts of Vidarbha region had also gone to Nepal on August 19 to visit Pashupatinath Mantar and other religious places. They remained in Kathmandu till August 27, a day after the floods. The four pilgrims from Vidarbha reached here by plane on Saturday, while the remaining 102 pilgrims reached Nagpur railway station by train at around 4:30 am on Sunday. At least 675 people have died so far due to these floods in Nepal, while about 2,400 people are said to be missing. A pilgrim thanked Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for arranging for his safe return to Nagpur. According to the Maharashtra Chief Minister's Office, Fadnavis was in constant touch with Nepali MP Sandeep Rana and was monitoring the necessary arrangements for the safe return of the pilgrims. A pilgrim said that during his return, he reached Janakpur in Bihar from Kathmandu by bus on August 28 and reached Danapur the next day. After this, he went to Patna, from where he took a train to Nagpur.
