The last and fifth budget session of the AAP government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will begin on Friday with the speech of Governor Gulab Chand Kataria. This time the budget session is likely to be turbulent as the state is now moving towards the assembly elections. The budget session will continue till March 16. During the assembly session, the Aam Aadmi Party will praise the public welfare works done by the government in the last four years, while the opposition will besiege the government over the law and order situation of the state and the deteriorating financial situation. Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema will present the budget for the financial year 2025-26 on March 8. There is little possibility of any new tax in the budget this time. For the first time, the budget proposals on the central line will be presented on Sunday. This will probably be the first time that the budget is being presented on the occasion of International Women's Day. The shadow of the upcoming assembly elections will be clearly visible in the budget session. The opposition will also try to besiege the government on issues.
