  Operation Prahar-2 will be conducted for 72 hours from February 9 to eliminate gangsters from the state by the Punjab Police. Meanwhile, raids will be conducted across the state by more than two thousand teams. DGP Gaurav Yadav gave this information while talking to reporters in Chandigarh. He said that the Commissioner of Police and SSP will lead this campaign. The DGP said that during Operation Prahar-1, raids were conducted at 17,603 places in the state and 5,290 persons were arrested, including gangsters and criminals associated with them. 128 weapons were recovered from their possession. Precautionary action was taken against 2,973 persons, while 5,413 persons were released after investigation and questioning. Meanwhile, 344 fugitive criminals were also arrested. He has directed the CP and SSP to supervise the investigation and personally inspect key crime spots to detect heinous crimes. He said that all district heads have also been instructed to personally visit congested areas and hotspot areas to increase police presence and confidence. Mr. Yadav said that during the next 72 hours, the police will conduct a special blockade across Punjab and search every person coming and going in the state. The Punjab Police has prepared a list of 61 gangsters sitting abroad and spoiling the environment of Punjab, out of which 38 are being prepared to be brought back to the country.
