Iran's retaliation after US attacks, sirens sounded in Bahrain; Kuwait closes airspace

Kuwait closes its airspace due to Iranian attacks

Iran has launched retaliation after the US attacks. Kuwait has closed its airspace due to continuous attacks by Iran. Kuwait's civil aviation authority has announced this.

Air raid sirens sounded in Bahrain
According to Iranian state media, the Iranian military targeted the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain with a drone in response to US attacks on the southern part of the country. Iran responded by launching retaliatory strikes on US military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain. Meanwhile, Bahrain's interior ministry said the country's warning sirens had been sounded again.

The US military's Central Command said it had targeted military surveillance capabilities, communications systems and air defence sites across Iran in response to Iran's "unprovoked and sustained aggression". The attacks began shortly after midnight in Tehran and lasted about four hours.

Iran threatens action against ships passing through Hormuz
Amid ongoing tensions in Hormuz, Iran's joint military command has threatened action against ships trying to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran says the strategically important waterway is almost closed. Iranian media has confirmed that two ships were shot down.

It is worth noting that Iran's top joint military command announced on Thursday the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, including to oil tankers and commercial ships, and said that any ship trying to pass through there would be shot at.
