Pakistan targeted residential areas: Afghanistan

The Pakistani army carried out airstrikes in areas bordering Afghanistan on Sunday morning in a major operation. Pakistan's Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has claimed that at least 70 terrorists have been killed in these attacks. The Pakistani army says that they have targeted the terrorist hideouts that were being used for recent attacks in Pakistan. Later, Pakistani media has also said that this number has increased to 80.

On the other hand, the Afghan Taliban government has completely rejected these claims of Pakistan. The Afghan Ministry of Defense issued a statement saying that the Pakistani attacks did not target any terrorist hideouts but residential areas, a madrassa and the homes of ordinary people.

The death toll in the attacks carried out by Pakistan in Afghanistan has reached 80. Pakistan carried out these attacks yesterday.

According to Pakistani security sources, more than 80 people have been killed in air strikes in Afghanistan's Nangarhar, Paktika and Khost provinces. The operation was carried out in response to recent suicide attacks in Pakistan, which Pakistan has blamed on Afghanistan-based terrorists. The Pakistani government says that about 70 terrorists were killed in the attack.

The air strikes were carried out mainly on camps affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Islamic State (Daesh). Pakistani officials said that terror centers located in several areas of Nangarhar and Paktika have been destroyed. Pakistan claims that the bomb blasts in Islamabad, Bajaur and Bannu were planned by attackers based in Afghanistan.

Pakistan's Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said that Afghanistan has become a bastion of cross-border terrorism. He said that Pakistan is taking all necessary steps to protect its citizens. Pakistan also reminded that under the Doha Agreement, the Afghan Taliban had promised that they would not allow their soil to be used for terrorism, but they have failed to do so.
