DIG Bhullar has immovable assets worth Rs 16 crores

  The CBI has started preparing a case of disproportionate assets against DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar (now under suspension). DIG Bhullar and broker Krishna Sharda are currently lodged in Burail jail. The CBI has recovered cash worth Rs 7.5 crore, two and a half kg of gold, 24 luxury watches and documents of about 50 properties from Bhullar's residence, including documents of many benami properties. A separate case has been registered under the Excise Act in the case of liquor being found from Bhullar's residence etc.

According to sources, the CBI will now examine the cash and assets found from Bhullar's house and reconcile his total income and expenditure. After that, a new case of disproportionate assets against the 2009 batch IPS officer may be initiated. DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar had filed a property return with the central government up to January 1, 2025. According to it, the Bhullar family has eight properties, which have been disclosed by the DIG himself.
