China has scrapped the H-1B visa, introduced a new 'K Visa'; What is the Dragon's plan?

After US President Donald Trump imposed a hefty fee on H-1B visas, there has been chaos across the world. Trump's decision has come as a major blow to India in particular. However, while the US is closing its doors to foreign workers, China has decided to open its doors to global talent.

Creating a solution to Trump's H-1B visa, China has decided to include the 'K visa' in its visa category. Through this visa, China is preparing to attract young scientists and technology professionals from all over the world.

According to Chinese news agency Xinhua, the new rules related to the 'K visa' will come into effect from October 1. China already offers 12 types of visas, and now the 'K visa' is set to join this list.

Special features of the K visa
The K visa will be completely different from the 12 other visas in China. People entering China through the K visa will be able to participate in fields such as education, culture, science and technology, and business.

However, China will set certain eligibility criteria to obtain this visa. The visa holder will also be required to submit certain documents. China will only grant K visas to individuals of a certain age group who have higher education, qualifications and experience.

According to China, talent plays a vital role in the development of a country. China is committed to providing opportunities to talent from all over the world.

US hikes H-1B visa fee
It is worth noting that the US has increased the fee for H-1B visa to $100,000 (approximately Rs 90 lakh). This visa is the largest for Indians traveling to the US. However, those applying for new H-1B visas will now have to pay this fee. This rule will not apply to existing visa holders.
