Protesters surround Donald Trump at a restaurant in Washington DC, chanting slogans of a free Palestine

US President Donald Trump clashed with protesters while eating dinner at a restaurant in Washington, DC. Protesters at Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab near the White House chanted "Free DC" and "Free Palestine" and called him a "Hitler of his time."

Trump smiled and nodded at the protesters before motioning for them to disperse, saying, "Let's go." He was accompanied by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President J.D. Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Others confronted the protesters, who were later escorted out, CNN reported.

Free Palestine slogans in front of Trump
A feminist activist group called Code Pink took responsibility, posting on social media: “While Trump, J.D. Vance, Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth and others were feasting at a steakhouse, we stood our ground and told them the truth: Free DC. Free Palestine. Trump is the Hitler of our time.”

After Trump federalized the Washington police and deployed the National Guard, he boasted that the capital was now a “safe zone.”

Before leaving for dinner, he told reporters that similar campaigns would soon be launched in other cities. “We will announce another city soon, we are working on it,” he said.

Washington DC is now safe - Trump
Trump also said he is having dinner with his cabinet members because it is now safe. He said it was one of the most unsafe cities in the country. Now it is as safe as any city in the country, so we are having dinner here with cabinet members, and everyone should go out.

"Our city is safe, that's a good thing. Have fun. You won't get robbed on the way home," he told the diners, clapping.
