Tata Group to hire 45,000 women workers for iPhone parts manufacturing plant: Report

  The Tata Group is set to increase the number of employees at its electronics plant in South India by several fold, with a majority of them being women. Components of the iPhone are made in this Tata Group plant. According to a Bloomberg report, Tata Group is preparing to hire more employees with the intention of getting more business from Apple, the American technology company that makes the iPhone. This Tata Group plant is located in the industrial city of Hosur in Tamil Nadu. According to the report, the Tata group is working on a plan to hire around 45,000 women workers at the plant in the next 18 to 24 months.

The plant is preparing to launch several new product lines, for which these employees will be hired. Currently, the iPhone housing or the case that holds the device together is made at this Tata plant and is staffed closely. Most of them are women.
