Kerala Blast: 48-year-old suspect surrenders in Thrissur, responsible for the blasts

  A 48-year-old man has surrendered at the Kodakara police station in rural Thrissur, claiming responsibility for the serial blasts at a Christian group's convention center in Kerala's Kalamassery on Sunday. Kerala ADGP (Law and Order) MR Ajith Kumar while talking to the media said that one Dominic Martin had surrendered claiming responsibility for the blast at Zamra International Convention and Exhibition Centre. “A person has surrendered at the Kodkara police station in Thrissur rural in the morning, claiming that he did it. His name is Dominic Martin and he claims to have belonged to this same group of councils. We are verifying it,” Kumar said. Asked if it would be a coordinated investigation with the NIA, Kumar said all investigating agencies work together to find solutions to such incidents. Chaos erupted after multiple explosions rocked a convention center during a Christian group's prayer meeting in Kerala's Kalamassery area of Kochi. In this painful incident, one person died while many others were injured. The explosion occurred at 9:40 a.m. inside the church, where about 2,500 people were present at the time. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said it was an unfortunate incident and all high level officials were posted in Ernakulam.
