The quota of applications of American H-1B visa holders in Canada is complete

Toronto: Indian professionals are set to benefit from the Canadian government's decision to allow 10,000 H-1B visa holders from America to come and work in the country. Government of Canada is very excited as the target of applications under this scheme has been met on the first day. Canada recently announced this scheme due to shortage of highly trained professionals in the country. The Canadian government formally opened the new work permit for US H-1B visa holders to apply on July 16. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) says applicants can no longer apply for the scheme because it has been discontinued. IRCC said on its website that we reached the threshold of 10 thousand applications for this initiative on July 17, 2023. No more applications are being accepted now. Under the scheme, study and work permits can also be issued to the families of H-1B visa holders. They can apply for temporary residence in Canada.
