Excise Policy Case: Hearing on Arvind Kejriwal's petition today, Delhi Chief Minister challenged ED's summons

New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's plea challenging the summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the investigation into the money laundering case related to the Delhi Excise Policy scam will be heard in the Delhi High Court on Monday. Refusing to grant interim relief during the previous hearing held on March 20, a bench of Justice Suresh Kumar Kait and Justice Manoj Jain had asked Kejriwal's counsel why he was not appearing despite being issued repeated summons. Also, the court had issued a notice to the ED and sought its response.

The Chief Minister of Delhi was arrested on March 21

Kejriwal has also challenged the constitutional validity of certain provisions of the Anti-Money Laundering Act relating to arrest, interrogation and bail by the ED after the Delhi High Court refused to grant interim protection from criminal proceedings.

It is learned that on March 21, the court had also asked the ED to respond to the petition seeking protection from Kejriwal's arrest.
