Pakistan Suicide Bomb Attack: Suicide attack in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 5 Chinese citizens died

  PESHAWAR: Five Chinese nationals and their Pakistani driver were killed in a suicide attack in northwest Pakistan. According to Reuters, a bomb targeted a convoy of Chinese engineers on their way to their camp in Dasu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, near Islamabad. Regional Police Chief Mohammad Ali Gandapur said that the attacker rammed a vehicle loaded with explosives into the convoy.

This is not the first time Chinese citizens have been attacked. Earlier in 2021, 13 people including 9 Chinese nationals were killed in a bus explosion.

Suicide attack in Pakistan

The attack on the Chinese convoy came on a day when Pakistan was already grappling with an attack on its second largest airbase, PNS Siddiqui. The Balochistan Liberation Army has claimed responsibility for the attack. A soldier of the paramilitary force was martyred in this attack. While security forces from the Pakistan side retaliated and killed all the five attackers.

Four terrorists were killed
Meanwhile, the army said that Pakistan security forces killed four terrorists in an intelligence operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Army's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations said that on Monday, action was taken after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the area in Dera Ismail Khan district.

According to a Geo News report, there was a shootout between the terrorists and the security personnel. In which four terrorists were killed. According to the report of Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies, 97 terrorist incidents took place in February. In which 87 died and 118 were injured.
